One step closer - milestone alert!
We all know the path to a new Lincoln Square has been a long journey, spanning three decades. The good news is that we have never been closer to seeing our dream come true. On May 16, 2025, the City of Oakland published their request for qualification (RFQ) in search of contractor to build our the new center.
According to the City of Oakland, The proposed work consists of demolition of the existing 6,910 square feet recreation center and construction of a new two story 22,221 square feet recreation center and park improvements located at Lincoln Square Park in Oakland Chinatown.
The new center will feature four multi-purpose classrooms/activity spaces, kitchen, office spaces, gymnasium, stage area, elevator, restrooms, and rooftop garden on the 2nd floor.
Once a winning contractor is selected, the City Council will vote on the contract, paving the way for ground breaking!
