2025 Keep Oakland Beautiful grant recipient

We were honored to have been selected as a 2024 Keep Oakland Beautiful Community Grant recipient. The funds were used to improve a weed-filled fence line where young Lincoln students line up for school.

Community benefits include 1) engaging neighborhood youth in a creative art project to promote community stewardship and connection to the park, 2) beautifying a highly visible area in the public park that is currently an eyesore, 3) reducing litter traps by elevating tree wells to sidewalk grade or slightly above and improving drainage, 4) dramatically reducing weed growth by installing filter fabric, colorful pavers, and compacted granite sand, and 5) serving as a model for other areas in the park and city, inspiring further community action.

As a grantee, we were honored to be invited to participate in the 2025 Earth Day celebration. We hosted an informational table and shared our community vision with many volunteers and Oaklanders who shared a common vision of creating and stewarding a more beautiful Oakland.
